I love how the japanese city-pop is such a happy and carefree genre.
A breath of fresh air from the dirty, angry or sad music they give us on the radio in the west.

This song makes me think of my niece. She’s 5 years old and the closest thing to a little sister I’ve ever gotten, being the youngest in my family. I haven’t seen her since November due to some problems in the family. But I remember summer days with her and think of them often. Her mom dropping her off to me at 8 in the morning so I could babysit her until she got off work at 5-6pm. I would play her favorite music on my speaker and spin her around in a swivel chair while she laughed loud. I remember taking her for walks around the neighborhood after the summer rain, jumping in puddles and looking for the rainbow. I remember sitting with her on my porch and playing dolls with her, and buying her candy, and laughing with her, letting her draw on my phone for as long as she wanted, watching cartoons and anime with her, staying up all night with her and her father when she’d spend the night, playing video games… I miss that kid. She’s one of the funniest, sweetest people I know. I hope I can see her again soon.
