Brown the roast very very well on all sides in a cast iron skillet on the stove top before putting it in the crockpot. Trust me, It'll take the flavor to a whole new level.

Au jus. Is really just French for "with juice". But if you want to say it fancy.... It's pronounced. (ah•JEW). or (ah•ZSHEW)

I had one similar. Chuck roast, 1 pkt Ranch powder, 1 pkt Brown gravy mix, 1 pkt Italian Dressing powder. A little bit of water. Like 1/2 cup and it was sooo good.

I’ve made a similar recipe for years, but I use the dried onion soup mix with the peppers and a little water. Nothing else. Probably close to the same as your recipe and yields delicious results also.

Looks great ...No need to brown ur roast before cooking although it does add a lot of extra layers of flavor when you do....But you did miss an opportunity to kick up the flavor a couple notches though ...U could've left room at one end of the slope- cooker & dropped a few cans of green beans in there & added a couple spoonfuls of minced garlic on top of them. And instead of adding water to ur roast, add chicken stock, it won't dilute ur overall liquid's flavor like water will and adds a nice mild layer of flavor and not give it a heavy gamey flavor like beef stock does ...👍👍👍😊😊😋😋🤗🤗👌👌👌

Im gonna make this this week. Monday morning at my local grocery market has expensive cuts of meats and roasts that had a sale price the week prior. It didn't sell so they put it on clearance. Still good just have to do something with it. I found what I want to make. thanks hun 💓

I managed Arby's in the 80s when they first came out with the "French dip and Swiss Au Jus sandwich".... It was funny listening to ppl over the drive-thru speaker try to pronounce "Au Jus" but don't feel bad, most of us had to learn it too! I'm definitely trying this recipe! I wonder what it would taste like if you took some of the beef and added some BBQ sauce then bake it in dry heat to give some crispy edges, top with cold cole slaw on a bun???

I brown mine first. Also I add two gravy, two ranch, and a cup of water and cook mine on low over night. Smells amazing in the morning.

I'm use trimmed tritip and I don't add water, and I only add a handful of peppers with a splash of the liquid, everything else is the same. I love it!

Being 71, I've al😢used the traditional salt and pepper, but if Dustin says it's amazing, I'll have to try it😋
