If you “game” on your phone, you’re not a gamer. Phone gaming is a damn joke. I want a phone with good cameras and usable ai. I have a pixel 8 pro and a 15 pro max. I noticed when switching from the pixel to the iPhone, Siri and even the iOS 18 ai are a joke. Just even the phone features like spam calls. I get 593 spam calls a day on my iPhone, while I was getting practically zero on my pixel. Siri is also a serious joke. From not understanding what I’m even asking to just failing outright in apple carplay uses, it’s almost unusable. I miss my pixel so much but my family all uses iPhone and iMessage. A feature that will bring me back to pixel once iOS 18 and rcs come to the masses. I’m using it in the iOS 18 beta now and it works great. As soon as the update comes out for my family, I’m heading back to pixel.

I have always upgraded my smartphone after 3 years just to make sure I'm still getting security updates. I'm on the Pixel 8 now, but I still have my Pixel 5 and even Pixel 2, and they both work fine. I'd go back to the 2 in a heartbeat even without the fanciest features if it was still getting security patches.

I'm using my Poco F1 since 6 years now, all thanks to the OG Pixel Experience ROM

Pixel 6 here since November 2021. It's been great for what I use it for. I think I'll hang onto it for another couple of years as it's supposed to continue to get security updates through 2026.

Samsung Galaxy A51. Had it for 3 years, feels like for 4 years. Nothing wrong with it. Checked the box, made in Japan! Battery needs a more consistent charge than beforehand, but I have tons of photos and videos I could clear out. Thinking about the Pixel 8 or 9? Probably 8 after this video.

Raw power isn't everything. Performance comes from optimization, and Google is a master of that. As the creator of Android, they're likely to deliver a great user experience for years to come, even though Tensor chips may not be the absolute top performers.

I'm all yours. I was actually looking forward to the Pixel 9. There are definitely many improvements. I wanted to switch from my iPhone but I'm very, very skeptical. The modem in the 8 was an absolute disaster and the Tensor 4 doesn't sound very trustworthy either. Let's see what the 5400 can do. I look at reviews but I don't buy it blindly.

I still have a great working pixel 6 that I feel no need to replace. I came on here just to see if any of the latest phones had more than 2X zoom on the cameras. I would upgrade only if a pixel had at least 8X optical zoom or higher. Otherwise I'll stick to my pixel 6.

I'm a Pixel 6a user so the upgrade is worth it for me. I missed the promo deals for the 8 Pro a couple of weeks back.

I will never understand why people spend this much $ on a phone when you can have a cheaper phone and a great tablet for a lot cheaper.

I thought about Upgrading from my Google Pixel 8 Pro to the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL but I've decided not to because there's just not enough there to make it worth the Upgrade in my opinion. 256 GB's of Storage and 12 GB's of RAM is more than enough for a Smartphone for the next couple of Years. Also if you Root your Phone there's Root Modules and Root Apps or APK's that you can use to make it better such as Performance and Battery Saving.

I'm going to give up my iphone 15pro max for the pixel 9. It constantly overheats on me I don't know why and ios 18 is a mess. I think it mihht be the A17 pro chip it also happens to my friend.

I honestly am very confused about all these leaks. Mainly because the majority of Pixel 6 pro geekbench scores are far less than my own greekbench scores from my now 3 year old Pixel 6 pro. They show around 1100 single core scores, while mine did around 1450. Right now the leak shows the pixel 9 pro xl at 1950, but if it's anything like my current device with a 350 point difference from the data online, that would put the pixel 9 pro xl's single core score on par with the s24 ultra. And for reference the s21 ultra (which came out the same year as the pixel 6) also had a lower score than what I'm currently getting today. Hench i am comfused.

the 7 year software updates make the sell on very attractive. I like it and will upgrade my phone every two years

So overall would you go for the pixel 9 pro XL or the s24?

IDK 7 years of software updates seems pretty useful to me. I've had my current phone for just about 6 years now. And I can see myself using it at least a couple more. If I upgrade my phone within the next couple years, it'll be because I want to, not because I have to.

OnePlus 7t Pro. Do the math, 6 years and running strong. While, as a secondary phone, I have an iphone 14 pro. My criteria is simple, stock android, less heating and quick charging.
