Camping at retirement age

Camping First Timer at 57
We have owned 4 campers including this Keystone Outback Terrain and this is the first time we have taken one on the open road and actually spent more than one night camping. We learned a lot. We even went RV/camper shopping!
As first timers, him 60 and her 57, we made some rookie mistakes like forgetting pillows. So after properly hooking up the sewer, water and 30 AMP power, we went to tow in Greenville, NC and found some at Big Lots. The first morning we had breakfast at Buiscutville because we had never been but then the next day we cooked on the outdoor camper kitchen stove.

Wow, first time in that rig.
FWIW using an rv fridge while not level, is inviting a fire. We know, we lost our rig 4 weeks ago, fridge burst into flames, while sitting idle on driveway. It’s the leading cause of rv fires, according to our insurance folks.
Be careful, absorption fridges are diff than at home

I've been told that putting the jacks down slightjy twists the chassis. And since the slideouts are installed with the jacks UP, they will be out of alignment and eventually damage themselves if they are moved while the jacks are down, because of that chassis twist.
May not be true, but it does sound possible.
