Is this the end of smear tests?

Researchers have developed a new urine test to detect cervical cancer - which could be used as an alternative to a smear test.

Women can use the kit at home without even needing to see a doctor.

It makes me furious when everyone around me tells me it's not painful and while I'm having it done, I'm screaming my head off, the nurses tell me 'the pain is normal'. Just tell us like it is. Some women hurt, some don't. Hopefully this test will bring an end the agony.

i tried to have a test done today and I found it too unbearable and the nurse had to stop because of the pain I was experiencing. It would be nice if there was another way for women to get tested.

Ownership, people must take ownership for their own health. Smear tests are extremely invasive, as they are now. Yet the importance of having this test can not be emphasised enough.
Death from cervical cancer is preventable. Go get tested. Own it. Be in control.
