Viñales Valley, West Cuba: An Excursion

Vinales valley is located in a calm and
relaxing environment, west of Cuba. It is one of the biggest tobacco growing areas in Cuba where traditional cultivation techniques still dominate.

During our excursion, we firsts visited a private tobacco farm. The farmers are required to sell 90% of their tobacco harvest to the government and the remaining 10% can be sold independently to tourists.

Within the same compound, we tasted a rare kind of rum that is also made in the traditional way.

Our last stop was the prehistoric wall mural painted on the cliff which took 18 people four years to complete.
