Which Fraction is Greater? Comparing Fractions Cross ❌ Multiplication Method | MathoGuide

To compare fractions using the cross multiplication method, you multiply the numerator of the first fraction by the denominator of the second fraction and compare it with the product of the numerator of the second fraction and the denominator of the first fraction. The fraction with the greater product is greater.

For example,
if you have fractions a/b and c/d, you compare ad and bc.

If ad is greater than bc, then a/b is greater; if ad is smaller than bc, then c/d is greater.

If ad = bc, the fractions are equal.
