i think dean used her. i feel like he was a d list actor and when he met tori spelling he thought doors would open for him and he hit pay dirt because of who her father was. then when aaron spelling passed and tori received barely anything he lost interest. at that point there were kids involved and then they got the reality show so he stayed. i always felt like he was using her there was something off about him in the way he felt about her. imo
