Beerus definitely gained respect for the Saiyans after meeting Goku and Vegeta and seeing their continuous progress. There is no way he would have tolerated their presence at his planet if he didn’t. That is the real tragedy of the Dragon Ball story that none of the Saiyans of the past have a clue how high their sons have risen, only Broly’s father Paragus caught a glimpse of their ascendancy but his thirst for revenge most likely clouded his mind from seeing this astonishing progress by the remaining members of his son’s generation, the last pure blood Saiyans.
