With Nostalrius closing on April 10th, 2016 due to Blizzard Entertainment's cease and desist request, many fans of Vanilla / Classic World of Warcraft (that is, World of Warcraft before any expansions were released) were deeply saddened. Since then, people have been pushing back against Blizzard and requesting the company either 1) Opens their own Vanilla servers so that people can pay Blizzard for their game or 2) Leave the private, non-profit Vanilla servers alone. Today, an article appeared on BBC discussing these recent events.

And as predicted, all this has done is hurt Blizzard in the long run.

WoW... Let's also add a law that anyone born after 1994 should not be able to comment on World of Warcraft?! ... Silly; right? ... The point is simple. Blizzard has obligations to the 'Mainstream' players of today; aka "Give me it now! or I'll buy it"; including another 'Expansion' on the Horizon ... There was a time when there wasn't 32 Flavors ... If there's a way to make money, 'they' will take their time... yup... Vanilla is a Flavor Millions wait for; like it or not!

more publicity for illegal actions? okay, double standards rejoice!
It's so simple to report about people that rant for 5 mins with simpleton arguments.
On long terms legacy servers will always go down the drain for a long long list of reasons.
