Reality Star Karamo Brown Talks About The Impact Of 'Queer Eye' | NowThis

Karamo Brown from “Queer Eye” wants the show to spark dialogue and allow people to communicate through their differences.
The Culture expert stated, “A show like “Queer Eye,” what we’re doing as a cast, is just trying to reach out to those people who we perceive as different from us and say, ‘Listen, we’re all the same.’ The same way you want love, acceptance, success is all we want.”
Brown explains that sometimes the conversations are as impactful for the Fab 5 as they are for the people they’re helping:
“There’s an episode where we work with a Southern, white cop. And for me that was a big one, because right now, the tension in our country around gun violence, but then also the relations between African Americans and the police is, you know, very hostile. And it’s very rare when people of color get to sit down with someone who they feel is their oppressor and say, ‘You are oppressing me, and I need you to take a moment.’ I was able to do that, but on top of that, it allowed us to have a dialogue and a conversation that I get hundreds of messages from people I would have never expected, who said, “I just watched ‘Queer Eye,’ and seeing you talk to this police officer has opened my eyes to the way that people of color feel being stopped by the police.’
Now that “Queer Eye” has been greenlit for a 2nd season, there’s no stopping Brown, and the rest of the Fab 5, from changing the world.
