Sam and Ren pointed out this is the cheapest video they ever made. Just two phone cameras recording on the dashboard. Ren was flexing his power after splitting with a manager who was trying to steer him in a direction Ren didn't want to go (Not Sony who he parted from amicable years before) this is my go-to video when I need an energy boost. The thing I often find with Ren's music is there is very little 'fat on the bone'.
By that I mean he seems to have the ability to (continuing the food analogy here) create the perfect recipe. He has the basic ingedients, mixes them up, then adds his own special seasoning (in his own unique way) to elevate his ingredients to a special succulent meal. He adds no unnecessary stuff that is not ultimately needed.
Whenever Ren is cooking in the kitchen, my mouth is watering.😀

When Ren was a teenager (before he got sick), he had depression. So he was, quite literally, addicted to his dread. His song "Depression" talks about it a little.

This is such a great song. For me, Ren has mastered the crossover between in your face attitude rap and great songs. Sadly, yet thankfully, no major label dare promote someone this open and true to life as Ren.
If it doesn't happen in his lifetime, Ido believe Ren will be looked back on, with similar reverance as Mozart, Bach, Lennon, Marley, Davis, Dylan et al...

I keep hearing you say "don't get mad at me", do people often get mad at you for what you say ? The hook/pitch shifted vocal and jolly, guerrilla cam filming do a lot of lifting in this track. Turns it into a fun vibe, while throwing in heavy and harsh reality lyrics delivered in a almost playful way. It's slightly smarter in it's approach than first appears. :)

You are such an insightfu artist. And I appreciate you. I just wish you would look more into your background. I totally agree with the empowerment of self, that we have more control than we think and it's not hopeless. I would add that while our emotions/choices are our responsibility, they are not our fault.

I personally have found myself blaming me for feeling bad. But then I'm just feeling bad about feeling bad. We are empowered but we are not flawed if we can't use that power all the time.

Yes, you pulled out all the good stuff from the lyrics in one go, great reaction. It took me several listens to notice everything that was going on in there. It’s incredible how many deep, and even tragic topics he packs into songs that are such a bop melodically and rhythmically. On my first listen I thought this was almost all fun shallow stuff. But I did pick up on

Get so high to try to silence sounds of fighting
Through the walls
I heard love dying

And these are still some of my favourite Ren lines. They pack so much story, meaning, and impact in so few lines
