the quick release thing comes with a thing that screws onto the wheel's original adapter, screw that in as tight as possible, itll pull down the actual adapter. (tip for spinning that screw on part; the screw the screw that it comes with into the circular adapter part slightly so u can use it as a handle to twist the adapter more effectively)

What you an do is just let it be not perfect in its installation, and then just adjust the center via software. hope this makes sense a little bit.

What I did with my uncle was use a Plasti Welder and hold the hot triangle on top of the flat service slowly and lightly, which will allow you to shorten the adapter !

idk if u still have this issue but I have the same wheel and what I do is leave the adapter attached to the wheel not the base, I use a flathead screw driver to pry the adapter off the wheel when I want to switch it then put it on the new wheel and tighten the circle cap thing that tightens the adapter to the wheel.

Hold the wheel spin the ring anticlockwise then hold the ring and spin the wheel clockwise to tighten it completely

I like all that gear just not in my budget right, but I do have the Logitech G920 wheel /pedal/shifter set up on a wooden desk top that I hand built myself and using a Xtreme gaming chair at the moment.

For the record before anyone thinks I’m just a hater I loved my TS300… But it’s not an eco system worth investing into… What so ever.
