It's heartbreaking to see so many fur-friends in need of homes. Especially since this just one rescue and there are so many animals in need across the country and worldwide. I guess it starts with helping one animal and one rescue at a time. Imagine if we all adopt (not shop from breeders or stores) one or more animals and give a few dollars to one or more rescues. The world would have far fewer animals in need. Please spay/neuter your pets and donate when you can. Together we can make a difference, we can save lives and the lands these animals thrive on!

I have rescued a puppy mill dog. She was 5 lived in a crate because she could only have 2 puppies. She doesn’t know how to play, but I have had her for 11 years now and she is so sweet

More working dogs in general seem to have had their sprits broken. Companion dogs seem to respond quicker, except for high strung chihuahuas. God these them and the team at the rescue.

Our dog was a puppy mill breeder dog rescue from an Amish barn. She was 9 years old when we were fortunate enough to adopt her. Her fears were tremendous. Any sudden, unexpected sound made her try to run and hide. She had terrible nightmares every time she slept -- as evidenced by yelping and growling in her sleep. Today, nearly a year since her adoption? Amazing transformation. She can go out with us in the yard, no leash, and have a nice time sniffing about or digging in her little dirt "dog nest". I am truly humbled at her resilience. (We wanted an old dog that had been disappointed in life - everyone wants cute puppies.) So? We ended up with the best dog in the world!

There is such a mixture there, those that are waggy tailed and social, those that are unsure-can i trust or can't i, then there are those poor darlings that are totally shut down, you go from smiling at the happier ones and wanting to cry for the saddest ones, all so special so precious so deserving of loving homes
