That's some good advice. It's been a while since your last video, would'nt mind more 2V content.

Unfortunately I had a new front and rear sprocket plus chain fitted 3500km ago (2200 miles). I was giving my bike a good spring clean when I noticed metal filings in the built up chain lube. After I removed the short cover over the chain I found the swing arm has ground away where the chain has rubbed also there's heavy wear on the back of the clutch cylinder, the sprocket has been floating backwards and forwards along the output shaft. Looking at it I found the locking plate has no teeth and the splines are worn as you have described. The front sprocket is very sloppy like a half inch socket on a 12mm nut.
I'm absolutely gutted that, what must have been almost immediately, on replacing the sprockets the plate failed and has damaged my Monster. The chain and sprockets was replaced by an extremely reputable Ducati specialist. The output shaft from the gearbox will not be a cheap fix and I'm not sure if I shouldn't demand some level of compensation from the company who did the work. The clutch cylinder was the only thing stopping the whole lot dropping off the shaft and potentially (highly likely) locking the rear wheel with a slack chain.

My experience with these things ('15 Scrambler): Rear wheel alignment is critical to eliminating rapid plate wear. My method is to let the sprocket float on the shaft while I spin the rear wheel. When it stays where it should, I install the plate. Any wear noticed: new plate.

Hello Brad, as a ducati rider learned alot from your own a S4R monster... when I pull away in first gear there is a loud rattling sound.... could it be broken clutch ? Any idea where to look ?

So what keeps front sprocket in place and prevents it from moving ?
My wife's 797 front sprocket moved towards motor and chain cut into swingarm..

Mine on my scrambler chewed itself out, threw the chain into the swingarm and chipped all the inner teeth on countershaft leaving me stranded in the middle of nowhere. After googling the problems, I found forum posts from 20 years ago from people having the same problems! Stupid f-ing design that should have been rectified decades ago
