How to Unlock Wordlock Without the Password

A simple way to unlock a wordlock bike lock when your kid has forgotten the code.
1. Pull the black parts away from each other, and keep pulling throughout the process.
2. Starting at the far right, begin twisting the letters until you feel a change in how the letter “clicks”
3. Move to the left one letter and repeat
4. DON’T USE THIS TO STEAL KIDS’ BIKES!

For everyone having difficulty hearing or feeling the change when rotating the tumblers, make sure you are pulling pretty hard on each side. The harder you pull, the more of a change in sound you will get. Secondly, if you aren’t hearing a change, it probably means that the previous tumbler is not correct. Make sure you are starting from the letter on the farthest right side and move to the left.

He set the code, told me the code… and then an hour later changed it to “something silly” and forgot it. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Turns out he changed it to “DERP” …I’m pretty sure I will be using that word in a few conversations with him in the near future. 😂

Thanks for the key for finding the "Key" to my WordLock cable lock. I used the cable lock to safeguard the spare tire on my boat easy thing for someone to walk away with. I had set a code but forgot to write it down. Now, a year later, we are getting ready to tow the boat to Florida and I don't have the code for the cable lock. Your method gave me the code "BOAT" on the first try. Your method was a snap....thanks for posting.

This absolutely worked! Lucky for me but now I don't know that f to can trust the brand for my bike lock!! I could not for the life of me figure out my wordlock. It's even a different version of a wordlock lock, more like for a locker. It took me 4 tries and finally tried again without looking at the letters. I'm blown away. I would never have guessed what I set the passcode as.

If you are having trouble hearing or feeling the change in the tumblers when trying this method, try lubricating between each ring with some 3 in 1 oil or equivalent. This will allow the rings to spin more freely and I have found that this makes the code easier to find.

Thanks for that it worked. I bought the lock and accidently threw out the code then when I looked in the rubbish and saw what I had to search through to find it I decided to search YouTube instead for an option lol.
