Would be interesting to get a video about the industry standard processes that blender can't yet handle. Think you guys are in a fantastic position to help drive its continued improvement!

I recommend if you haven't already, adding a keybind for spacebar under the shader editor section in the preferences > keybinds, and setting the value to "node.add_search" and checking "Use Transform". This way you can use the spacebar to search for nodes to add in the shader editor, makes your workflow super quick and it'll leave your other spacebar search menus alone (such as in the 3D View).

My "pro tip" (which I wouldn't recommend as a default but is worth trying) is to enable "emulate 3 button mouse" if you're working with a graphics tablet. If you're like me and prefer to always work with one hand on keyboard and one on the tablet (i.e. I use keyboard shortcuts and ~never touch the tablet quick keys), the navigation is much smoother with the "emulate 3 button mouse" option. It takes a little while to get used to it but soon becomes second nature. ctrl + alt + drag to zoom in / out, alt + drag rotate, alt + shift + drag to pan.

Also, change your "C" shortcut to Clay Strips instead of Clay Brush. :)

starting at 1001 also helps with file numbering. no more 1, 10, 11, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9.

6:25 . F2 add-on. "We're not going to cover what it's doing here, just know that it's amazing."

... And the missing explanation is...
(I think, according to a quick Google search)...

Bart writes:

After several weeks of testing and documentating I proudly present a new add-on: F2 (also known as the 'spider-script'). It extends Blender's native functionality for creating faces and should be a great help in your modeling workflow.

F2 (also known as the 'spider-script') extends Blender native functionality of creating faces. It allows you to create a face from a single vertex selection or a single edge selection, while retaining all the built-in functionality. Simply enable the add-on, and pressing the F-key will be better than ever before.

"We're gonna tell you about some ways to supercharge Blender. One of them is enabling the F2 shortcuts. Don't worry about what they are, just turn them on."

I'm a persona who retopologizes quite a bit of stuff, so if you're like me, there is a really Great tool In the `LoopTools`, its called "Space", The Hot key I use Is "Alt+Q", this is very quickly select edge loops and space them out.

A good set up and the basic lookdev materials well, look great! :P
One thing I've done is set up Ctrl+Space as full screen toggle and Alt+Space as show/hide overlays making it incredibly quick to view it bigger and cleaner!

Another thing I've done is set up the quick favorites to have the most used functions in each of their modes. Object Mode: Set origin at, lock camera to view, apply rot and scale, Mirror, apply all modifiers, etc and in Edit Mode: merge by distance, merge at center, toggle automerge, mark seam, select faces by sides, symmetrize, grid fill, etc and Sculpt Mode: Voxel Remesh, Dyntopo toggle, change brush, etc. This has made my modeling rather quick because Blender thrives through its heavy use of shortcuts and it's also all located inside one button (Q in my case, probably for everyone else as well) and Q is close to all the other major interface, transform and modeling hotkeys like G, R, S, E, F, A, and the Tab, Ctrl, Shift and Alt keys so there's no need to jump around the keyboard to access relatively complex tasks freeing my right hand to just focus on the mouse interaction.

Really cool video! Some other things I have added to my own start up are:
A UV checker material so I dont have to create one of those all the time.
3 different three point light setup variations with planes, spheres and point lights.

Also an incredible addon (imo the best) is the "Pie menu editor" with wich I can set some tedious actions to use pie menus rather than long, complicated shortcuts. For example when I press H I get a pie menu with Hide object, Show All and Hide others. I also have this for the merge tool, so I click M and get a pie with at first, at last, at center, at cursor. Really cool addon and worth the money.

I posted this tip on one of your other videos but this video also seemed appropriate, and I thought it could bare repeating. :)

Since there will be a lot of pro users here i want to share this powerful tip that I've only heard mentioned a few times. It's a feature in blender I've never seen in another program. Everyone is familiar with the modifier keys Shift, Ctrl, and Alt. If you are customizing your hotkeys it is possible to set any key to be a modifier key. I personally use ~. ~ +A or ~+C, etc. In the hot key editor, under where most keys say Press and next to the check box for Cm, there is a grey box, click that box and set your key. Hope this helps someone. This is handy for moving a lot of the hotkeys on the right side of the keyboard to the left, or vice versa for lefties.

Usually when I model something I prefer to work in centimeters instead of meters, then change the clip view to 0.001 cm, that whay no clipping at all when I search for mesh details.

I started the video thinking, "maybe I'll see 1 or 2 things that may help". 3 minutes into the video I was like, "I'm 100% just going to download that file"

Would absolutely love to see a video covering the complete creation or altering of hotkeys

Blender comes with its own .exr HDRI maps if you wanted to use one of those as a stand-in for the world environment. They come with every 2.8 install in the followin folder: Blender Foundation > Blender > 2.80 > datafiles > studiolights > world

I would suggest to enable "Extra Shading Pie Menu Items" under

This way the Shading Pie Menu will also give you the option to enable X-Ray and disable the overlays!

3:48 You can find Blender's *built-in lookdev HDRIs* in the installation directory under
(Linux: _/usr/share/blender/..._ . Windows should be _C:\Program Files\Blender Foundation\Blender {version}\..._ )
They actually are from HDRI Haven, so go there if you need higher resolutions. :3

Super handy! Thanks.

Would suggest not re-mapping Undo on mac to Ctrl+Z, instead keep it as Cmd+Z

If you use left click select, then I recommend setting keymap -> activate gizmo = drag. That will allow you to select through gizmos.

setting key-frames further also helps in making simulations in render specially cloth simulation where we don't want to let people see cloth falling on body from

Well, I hope you get my point😅😅😅
