Holy hell, is it really rocket science to realize when your kids are taunting/handling an animal roughly. As a parent, it's the adults responsibility to teach proper handling and empathy.

This is why I don't let children near my cats without strict supervision. They don't mean to be cruel, but they're very rough and most times have not been taught how to handle animals gently and with respect.

Ok, on this one I do side with the cat. The kids were a bit out of pocket with the cat, and the cat didn't really seem that aggressive, mostly defensive, it didn't seem like it had a bad attitude, mostly defensive when the kids were pissing it off playing too rough. She actually reminded me of my cat, same type attitude.

More like those kids were torturing the cat. I grew up feeding and taking care of stray kitties loitering in the street and I never shook a cat or pinched at its fur. The only time I was scratched by a cat I was familiar with (and it was on accident) is when I was taking too long to put the food down and my Floppy just got impatient and she wanted to reach it. This is why people should teach their kids how to handle pets. And for the uninformed people, this is why they should do their research beforehand before adopting any pet. -^- Glad to see Shadow and the family are getting along now.

i am happy that it worked out. But what makes me angry is that the parents never taught the kids to be gentle with the cats. Like, "AWWW she's playing with the cat." then act surprised when the cat gets agressive. THEN have a stranger teach their kids somthing they could have done themselves.

This is what happens when you refuse to teach your children manners. When I was very little we had an old grumpy peekapoo dog that hated being picked up. My parents told me to never pick him up or he'd bite me, so when I foolishly tested this out I got bit, and when I cried to my parents about it, I was the one in trouble because I obviously disobeyed them. I learned my lesson.

how repulsive, entitled and selfish can you be, to insist on creating copies of your mighty "special" self, but not put on efforts to observe your kids very very basic and obvious behaviours..

the cat's the one being tortured. russian blues are srsly precious. they're like golden retrievers in cat form and slightly more human smartness.

Thank you for the update. When I saw the preview clip for this, I at first made a prediction that maybe it was the kids, having seen previous clips before. What I didn't expect though was how grabby the kids were to the cats. Yes, the parents should have taught them how to handle a cat and should have realized that not all cats are best with children. Luckily, Jackson showed them all this and it's great to see Shadow trusting people.

When I was in first grade, I got a dog that was a few months old. I was hesitant to interact with her until I felt like I wouldn't kill her. The only interacting I did with her for a while was pet her. Now I take more responsibility with her, but I was really surprised to see that the kids treated the poor cats like a stuffed animals.

Jackson's a miracle worker, with teaching cats to feel safe and happy in their home and with teaching people how to treat and understand their cat.
