Congress back in session as government shutdown looms

Lawmakers returned to Capitol Hill Monday as a government shutdown deadline looms. Congress has until Oct. 1 to fund the government. CBS News congressional correspondent Scott MacFarlane reports.

I’m old enough to remember when the government actually passed a yearly budget. This continuing resolution crap has got to stop. They wait to the last minute and then slap something together just to get down the road. It wasn’t that long ago that our federal budget was 4 trillion and know we are up to 7 trillion. From my job, i don’t get back pay while I’m sitting at home. They ALWAYS give these federal workers back pay when they go back to work. Our elected officials don’t seem to care that they are bankrupting this country. They just want to tax more and spend more.
