That was truly impacting to me. I grew up without any discipline, so trying to understand as a believer in Christ that correction and instruction is good for you can be challenging! But it’s all a part of God‘s love for us! Thank you. 😭🥳😊

❤️ Thank you! The reason we are brought to brokenness is BECAUSE of disobedience. God doesn’t like correcting us but he does it because he knows what we don’t in our moments of poor choices. The world is not a safe. You are so accurate with this message!

Just came upon your channel while I was looking for information on the purposes for a shepherd's rod, (and The Shepherd's rod). Years ago, back in the 80's, I loved reading Phillip Keller's book, A Shepherd Looks at Psalm 23. He made the same point about having to break the leg of a beautiful and highly prized ewe that was always breaking out of her pasture. He explained why a shepherd would have to provide still waters, the work a shepherd would have put in to prepare and provide proper and healthful green pastures, the necessity if anointing their heads with oil to keep invasive insects from actually crawling into their brains by way of their ears, etc...I never thought about how the shepherd would've had to carry her filth, too. Wow.
Of course he would! That's exactly what our Wonderful Shepherd did!
I'm here 4 years after you posted this, but it just goes to show that the truths of God are always relevant, and always on time.
I'm so happy to have discovered you! Just subbed.

All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness.

I will never leave him again. HE is my rock when he told me who I am. I listened and came home.

I thought the rod was a tool to use to defend the sheep from other animals trying to attack the sheep. The staff was used to pull the sheep out of places where they were stuck.

Hi Ray, I'm curious about the breaking of the lambs leg. Have you broken the leg of any of your Sheep?

this is not true, shepherds don't break sheep's legs. Look it up.
