The total drive time is way way off. Queenstown to Milford Sound is already a good 4-5 hours!

Tourism NZ you need to review the travel time from the Catlins to Milford Sound. This is the reason we have people speeding & accidents. Without allowing for any stops this would the travel time yet you are showing the scenic places to stop. How about being realistic & advising people to spend time on the Southern Senic Route & make Te Anau the place to stay to visit Milford Sound, as there is very limit accommodion & no town in Milford.

Christchurch to Milford Sound, via the Catlins is a 12hr 22min drive - if you dont stop, and dont get stuck behind slow driving tourists who never pull over to let the traffic pass. You're way off the mark promoting this Christchurch to Milford as 6hr 40min!
