M Vaishali R. is speedrunning towards the Grandmaster title. After a beautiful win in the 3rd round of FIDE Grand Swiss, today she took down the former Women's World Champion Mariya Muzychuk (UKR)!

Vaishali played a phenomenal game with the Black pieces, forcing her opponent to resign in just 23 moves - a proper miniature! She now has 3.5/4 points and is around 20 elo points away from becoming India's latest Grandmaster.

Wow ..Nh5 in the opening seems like such a basic blunder, as it appears to lose the piece with g4, but it is tactical trap that Muzychuk just avoids ever so casually, seemingly without an iota of a thought. These ladies are just such awesome players that they either have all these lil traps from all openings learnt by-heart, OR just have this ability of deep intuitive thinking to immediately see through such traps, which is unbelievable.
