Everyone's talking about this extraordinary representation of the three witches by Kathryn Hunter.
The previous clip I posted seemed to be very well-received so I dare to post this one as well.

So here is the clip from much later in the play Act 4 where Macbeth seeks out the witches to know what horrors lie ahead.

"A drum, a drum, Macbeth doth come'

As a fan of Shakespeare, I always find it exciting to see new refreshing takes on Shakespeare's works and this version takes the cake. The camera-work, the acting is just amazing. Can we talk about how the witches just drop by to give Macbeth the prophecy in his own home? Genius!

How did this movie come out without my knowing about it? It's beautiful!

This is the first time I understood the double meaning/contradiction in

“Seek to know no more.”
Vs
“Seek to know. Know more.”

0:11 The fact he wakes up to the branch of the tree hitting the window 3 times then 3 wicked witches arrive in his room and the tapping on the window stops to focus on the conversation is great story telling and focus.

This is enthralling, and haunting. Same sort of feeling I got from The Light House. Just captivating.

I gotta say, this is impressive - but by far my favorite macbeth adaptation is the one by roman polanski. gets me every single time, absolutely brutal.

Kathryn Hunter has reinvented witches. I would love to have seen the interactions among her, Coen, and Washington. To see something new come to life.

Am I correct in saying this spell the witches conjure is a "real" spell, hence why the play is supposedly cursed, as witches at the time were unhappy with such knowledge being shared, and thus put a curse on the play?

No wonder they deleted this scene from Raising Arizona.

I will be watching this movie many many times again. Carter Burwell's score and Bruno's cinematography are like additional characters

I think Joel Coen's two best directorial movies are "The Tragedy of Macbeth" (2021) and "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?" (2000). His greatest Screenplay was for "Unbroken" (2014) in my opinion. His other films I would be interested in watching sometime are "Burn After Reading" (2008) and "A Serious Man" (2009).
