Taker debuted in November of 1990, so this was his first royal rumble, he won his first and only royal rumble 16 years later in 2007, but he was already a legend by then...

This particular Royal Rumble match doesn't seem to get much attention...but it should. Rick Martel lasting nearly 53 minutes; The Undertaker's Rumble debut; The Legion Of Doom; a number of the participants lasting at least 30 minutes +. And though it wasn't until 1993 that the winner of the Rumble match was rewarded with a championship match at Wrestlemania, THIS Rumble event pretty much planted the seeds for Wrestlemania that year as well.

I definitely enjoyed this Rumble just as much as the others from the early-'90s. 🙂

I miss these kind of rumbles. Nobody hiding in a corner until its their spot. Very few spots, just random beatings. Only in a rumble can you get Paul Roma and Rick Martel going after each other, or Hogan and Tugboat.
