How has Google's strategy shifted?

Google's strategy with the Pixel line has shifted a lot over the past couple of years. In 2020, we saw a big move from the company. It released three devices in around the mid-range. For the first year since its inception, Google hasn't released a flagship Pixel. Why? Watch the video to find out!

Regarding charging, why unfortunately? Consider that the manufacturer has to ensure that the battery doesn't degrade too much over time and fast charging does degrade it faster, right? 18 watts is a good balance.

I love how we have options today to get great phones for as little as $200, and as high as $2, 000. What is even better, is you're not getting a bad phone when you a cheaper one. You're just not getting as fancy of one. Smartphones are like cars, but spending $10, 000 on a car....you're not necessarily getting a bad just not getting as fancy of of one as one that cost $100, 000. You're still getting a car that can get the job just may not be as fast, or have as fancy of a motor inside, or look as flashy, etc. Doesn't mean it won't get the job done. And that's what I like about smartphones. You're not necessarily getting a "bad phone" when you go cheap, and that's what I love and appreciate about the smartphone market, because it doesn't force you to spend let's you spend what you feel comfortable spending and still giving you something great for that price. I love personally love it. As for this phone specifically tho, google either needs to step up their hardware game a little more, or step down their pricing a little bit. Considering there are other phones on the market with better hardware for cheaper price tags....it make Pixel phones a harder purchase. Google Software can only do so much on such outdated technology. Now Google software on some 2020 high end we're talking like best phone on the market potential. Because could you imagine Google software on something insane like a 100x zoom lens. I bet it'd be way better than that of the likes of its hard to touch Google on the Software side of just wish they went with better hardware to actually show that software off.

18W fast charging is perfectly fine!!! You reviewers want 65W charging because you only use the phone for a week but normal people who have to use the phone daily for 3 years will suffer with batteries dying in a year

Using 3a for almost a two years now and it's still a perfect phone. I am almost sure the next upgrade will be also a Pixel from a line.

I love the Pixel 5 but I can't get it in my country. I love that the back is grippy and don't need a case. The pictures are great. And the big one that I like is that the screen is symmetrical!

I'm close to giving up on pixels. I love stock android but they constantly change directions, adding and removing useful features and didn't bother to make a real upgrade for previous flagships.

I switched from Pixel 2 to Pixel 5 and loving it so far.
Pixel 5 did a good job cutting out the fancy stuff and focus on what the user needs. it fits like a glove

Plot Twist: Google has NO strategy.
Everything they start, eventually ends just as quickly.
Even their software is heavily segmented across different regions and is in need of polishing ..

I'm still perfectly happy with my Pixel 3, to me a new pixel 5 would be great.

To be fair to the Pixel 5 the vast majority of smartphone users wont even feel the difference between 765G and 865 in normal day to day usage

I don't care about super premium hardware or pointless gimmicks like the one on Pixel 4. In fact, I really like Pixel 4a's and 5's simple, clean, bare essentials looks and 5 has symmetric bezels too. Just make the screen 120Hz with 240Hz+ touch sampling, upgrade storage to UFS3, give it a big battery and upgrade the camera sensor already! Software magic can't save that sensor anymore.

4:57 Another Fossil Hybrid HR fan? I had a Galaxy Watch but found that I was always using faces with hands. I traded the fancy Samsung in for the Fossil and I love it! Perfect blend of watch + basic smart functions.
Still enjoying my 3a XL too.

699 isn't exactly cheap considering the built quality of the phone

While I know the leaked images of the so called Pixel 5 Pro are fake I still want there to be one. I'm due an upgrade in May and whilst the Pixel 5 is a beast of a device for the money I personally don't see it as an upgrade over my OnePlus 7 Pro so I hope they do release a follow up around that time with a new 48/64MP Sensor, a higher end chip while keeping away from the other gimmicky features that rack up the cost.
The perfect Pixel for me would be:
Snapdragon 865/888
8GB/12GB RAM
128/256GB UFS 3.1 Storage
48MP/64MP Main Camera (Larger sensor to capture more light, Imagine that combined with Googles Image Processing)
16MP Ultrawide
13MP 5X Telephoto
1080P 90HZ/120HZ 6.5" OLED Display
5000mAh battery
Metal Unibody design with Wireless charging (Like the current Pixel 5)
IP68 Water and Dust Resistant.

I'd be willing to pay up to £800 for this and I'm sure others in the market at that price range would too.
