Learn more about the Sky-Ram on Motor Life

It may have begun life as an April Fools joke, but the Holley Sky-Ram intake is the real deal–so real in fact, we put it to the test on the engine dyno at Westech Performance. Watch as our side-show spectacle turned performance part proves it might not be so ridiculous after all.

If that combo doesn't make its way to a Cleetus event I'm going to be thoroughly disappointed in whomever wins it 🤣

I'm so glad you guys took an April fool's joke and ran with it to give what a whole bunch of people wanted to see. 2 thumbs up and I tip my hat to you gents.

I really wanted to see it tested with the moon shot plate system. 😁

I'm excited to see how the "space ram" performs when it debuts next April!

So cool you guys actually dynoed this, someone is good in the marketing department....

I bet some people who are more into a certain marine application might just _love_ that bottom end torque. And on a, say, jet boat the problem of hood clearance might be moot altogether.

I'm glad you actually built it and tested it! Way to go Holley!

It added 110ft/lbs under the curve at 3600-3700 rpms, that would feel AMAZING on the street. Guys are always talking about what is going to feel good when you're driving the vehicle everyday vs what is the most "racy" thing. That a Sky-Ram is the best truck intake EVER. I wanna see it with boost. I think the HP curve could be extended a while longer before it falls on it's face with forced induction. I really hope you guys do a Sky-Ram production run. I legit think it would sell out. Maybe experiment with a shorter production Sky-Ram that gives the performance and carries a little higher in the Rpms and still has the insane looks. I think this thing is A joke that turned into a viable product.

That torque curve is fantastic. I almost never take my big block Chevy over 3500 rpms. I don't care how much power it makes at 5000 rpms.

Never thought you'd follow through with this.
Well
If it's fun, it's worth doing
Well done y'all

So, what I learned from all this is it would be excellent for my mud truck!!

Dear Holley, I think you should create a modular Hi-Ram intake where the middle of the runners has a bolted together flange, that way the intake could be run like normal and you could sell runner extensions in 5 and 10 inch increments, that way a guy could choose how much "Sky-Ram" he wants or he could even keep adding them until he has a Space-Ram. Seriously thought, you could increase the runner length by 5-10 inches at a time and tune the runner length for your application on the fly to what best suits you.

I love that the runners are SOOO long that it not only hits the fundamental resonance, but the next mode up at higher RPMs. Finally, vtec for your stump puller.

That Sky Ram intake would be perfect on a old school 1966 Dodge A100. With the ingne behind the cab and a old school dual cuad air ram filter scoop. And a dually axle in the back and supper single tires in the back. With Dual exhaust stacks in the back of the cab. It will almost look like a Hot Wheel style trick out truck. That would get allot of attention. Much more than someone with a Lamborghini.

Nice to see someone who knows how to tighten AN fuel lines testing this

The only intake where you need to consider wind drag while running it. 😂

Awesome!
With that piece I wont need to install a snorkel intake on My offroad truck!!

I would love to see a carb test with this and measure the temp at the intake port. Though installing two carbs 10’ off the ground would be quite the challenge 😂
