Miami Police officer suspended after throwing away sacred Jewish Scripture

Miami Police Department Sgt. Roberto Destephan held a wooden box engraved with a Star of David. Destephan threw it on the bed of a pickup truck, as he used an expletive to describe it. He also held a copy of the Hebrew Bible, or the Tanakh, the source for the Christian Old Testament.

I don't see angry mobs of Jews calling for this man's death, as would happen if he recorded himself throwing away the koran and saying that.

Why would he do such a thing like that? The holy book needs to be treated with love and care. Throwing it in the trash? That's insane. Years ago, he was a great friend to me and when I found out what happened, he needs to think it over and he needs to understand the differences and never to cause anymore harm. He needs to change his ways.

So if it was contaminated and mold or whatever he doesnt have the proper ppe no gloves no mask if your working to clean contaminated area you should have mask gloves and proper gear this man should be reprimanded for his accion.

It's gonna be a big mistake to fire him. He will sue them for being terminated without cause, and he will win. In America, we get to call religious books trash, and throw them in the garbage if we want to. It's distasteful, video taping it was stupid, and the guy needs to be counseled. Terminating his employment will backfire, because he has a right say, and do what he did.
