30 some odd years ago I was at the bank and an old lady brought in several rolls of half dollars. Her husband had passed-away and she was getting rid of the coins by bringing them to the bank. I told her she should bring these to a coin dealer, but she didn't want to deal with it. I was in line right behind her and took like six rolls from the teller. Every single roll was ALL silver coins.

My grandmother always told me to save a dollar a day. I never did. She, however lived to be 94. After her death she left a surprise. I am now 76, and remember her always giving my parents minerature Christmas trees made of branches filled with tied on Silver dollars. Upon her death they removed her feather bed uncovering a horde of 3 pound coffee cans filled with silver dollars. Not a few, but neatly stacked 3 cans high and six feet long and 5 feet wide. My dad's comment? "Surprised the floor held".

I wish I could go to Vegas or Reno back in the days when the big giant slot machines paid out silver dollar coins. Can you imagine if you saved like 500 of those things or a thousand??? Wow!!!!

The only other time I saw this Sort of thing was a episode of Rob finds treasure. He was Still at the bank in his car, When he took a peek at a half dollar box he picked up.
Most of the rolls in that box were silver halves. Incredible Hunt and congratulations Dave.

I recall in the early 70's a friend of the family was an operator of heavy equipment. Prior to demo old houses, he'd search the area with a metal detector. He showed us blue mason jars of silver dollars he'd found. That got me interested in metal detection.
The only thing I found with mine were screws I'd lost while working on my 73 Challenger.

I've heard that before the JFK half came out, the half was a commonly-circulating coin, used daily in change. That's why the Walkers are so worn. However, tossing around those BU '64s and clanking them together harms their value.

Dude awesome finds ....I bought a $500 quarter box from the the bank and in it was a whole roll of 1999-2018 silver proof state quarters 90 percent and a whole roll of 2019 .999 silver quarters state parks and San Antonio mission and war in the pacific

Dave, I believe this vid. About 3 years ago, I had a box of dimes that produced 98 silver dimes: 65- Mercs, 33-Rosies.
