Scenes like that stir up my stomach even more than Homelander scenes. It's a different kind of menace. With Homelander, the menace is clear : he can kill you. In this scene, the menace is sneaky, muddled and quiet. It will slowly crawl under your skin, corrupt your soul, and break your spirit piece by piece if you don't fight it.
As if showing your skin was a statement of feminism or empowerment. It's all about choice, and Starlight isn't given a choice. She's forced to exhibit herself, it's modern sexism : "you must put on this dress otherwise it means you're not confident with your body, you don't want that, do you ?". The writers are spot on.

It really is too bad that Homelander cooked (literally) Madeline. Ashley was way more confident as an executive assistant. Whereas Madeline could generally control Homelander, with Ashley it's the other way round.

Honestly it’s kinda cute, ngl I would wear that for Halloween lol. But if we are serious here, she is a Christian superhero, honestly a pretty bad costume unless she zipped it all the way up and had more sleeve length. Like imagine it goes down to her elbows and her bottoms to the knees? Honestly would look a lot better and still would have less material to work with incase it got damaged! Think of the boots and gloves too, would be great! X3

The old suit looks much cheaper and almost cosplay-like, and the cape looks like an old tablecloth (it is homemade, after all). The new one looks more budgeted and professional, and made with stronger material, but it has a lot of open, exposed spots that could get hurt.
