"Why are they all bullying a child, they're just stupid." Exactly

Most of the characters in this movie are really hateable because they're cartoonishly awful and yet still seem believable

I bet that Buck changed his last name from Little to Cluck to distance himself from his son and made his son keep the old name

Compare it with Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, where the father is supportive and clearly cares about his son (even supports him despite the lousy inventions), but he just doesn't know how to talk to him.

Yeah that fox girl basically got lobotomized and stripped of her personality so she could become someone's clueless dumb gf. That's honestly a nightmare scenario for me 😬

Even as a child I was weirded out by how Loxi ended up. Like she's not even herself anymore and it freaked me out

It’s funny, if you watch the deleted scenes, they actually make Buck look a bit better, he’s cooking breakfast, albeit poorly and tries to defend Chicken Little from the paparazzi and reporters.

When I first saw chicken little I legitimately cried because I didn't understand why they were being so freaking mean

Buck Cluck saying “I’m supportive” without even doing anything hits me more than it should cause it reminds me so much of my dad- saying he’s supportive but not doing anything to really change other than just saying “Look at how supportive I am”

You aren’t supporting me Kenneth- youre just excusing your actions with meaningless words at this point

You know, the life of Chicken Little sounds like the perfect setup for a villain backstory. A child literally being ridiculed and beaten down by everyone around him, and has a worthless father that never supports him. This was more than enough for Chicken Little to harbor hatred for the world. With his new found knowledge of the aliens, he then gets a hunger for retribution by taking advantage of Kirby being lost. As the invasion begins, Chicken Little looks back at all the torment that happened to him in the past, but he doesn't feel any pity for the people, especially his father. Instead, he seethes with pure joy and satisfaction, watching as the world burns.

If the writers stuck with that plot, the movie would have been a whole lot better!

I remember seeing this movie with my mom and at the end she said she didn’t like it because, “It hits too close to home” as if 10 year old me was supposed to know what that meant.

You forgot one scene.
When chicken little’s dad is protecting him from kirby’s dad, he says “my kid did not take your child, you left him behind...and that’s bad parenting...and I should know”
He practically confessed!

I hate to say this but Chicken Little's dad is way too relatable to people who grew up with narcissistic parents, which was not what I think Disney's intension was lol

I remember seeing this movie in theaters with my dad and getting mad at CHICKEN LITTLE because I agreed with his dad and the town at first... And then having possibly my first big self-reflection moment at realizing I hated him *because he reminded me of myself.* That sigh his dad gives when he just starts TALKING? Just talking, like anyone does? Story of my life. Don't embarrass me? Bro, that might as well have been my parents' motto! Does one good thing and gets bragged about because he's now EARNED basic parental affection? Dude...
I'd always blamed myself, so I also blamed him.
Basically, this movie fUCKED up little 9-year-old me. BLEW MY MIND. A journey to self-discovery soundtracked by Barenaked Ladies.

Watching Chuck be visibly annoyed/irritated and audibly sigh when he starts to speak hurt me cause thats exactly what my narcissistic parents used to do, and still do. I remember how much that used to hurt, and how it always used to make me quiet down immediately; why would anyone speak if they don't want to be heard? I remember how much it hurt my development to be taught my words/thoughts/opinions don't matter or are irritating to listen to. It makes you never want to speak again, it's completely crushing emotionally.

It's a movie about childhood trauma and narcissistic abuse. In real life a whole town wouldn't be involved, but to a child it would definitely feel that way.

The really fucked up part about them making a board game, a movie and all the other merchandise directly based on what Chicken Little did, is the fact that they realistically wouldn’t have been able to do that without Chicken Little or his parent/guardian’s permission.

So there’s a very good chance that Buck *agreed* to let them make all this merchandise mocking his son and is probably getting royalties from it. He’s straight up benefitting from his son’s fame/infamy, yet he still had the nerve to constantly complain to his son about how embarrassed he is by him.

"The entire town bullying the shit out of a literal child" reminds me of a certain big headed boy from a show called invader zim
