I went to a new barber a few weeks ago and tried to explain my usual, he decided however to give me the "fuck my shit up" look and i legit took 2 weeks off work out of embarrassment

I love how people are complaining about their barber messing their up. It's a barber, he knows what to so, show him multiple photos, explain to him exactly how you imagine it, or even pause him in the middle of the cut to check how it looks and tell him if you want it done a little differently. It's not like you have to be quiet and hope for the best, you are allowed to tell them what you want. It's not like someone is gonna shame you for it.

"omg, I can't believe he told his barber what he wants". That just sounds stupid. I interrupted my barber multiple times like "wait bro, can I just check real quick, can u move this fade a bit higher, thx" or something like that. And I've never had a bad experience with a barber ever. If you sit there and don't say anything don't expect your barber to read your mind and do what you want. He will usually start asking stuff like "is this good or do I move it there?" on his own after you say something. And if you do all this and he still does something entirely different because he feels like it, go to a different barber

Back in my short hair days whenever I ask for a crew cut, my barber literally just does a ridiculously thin buzz cut.
