I wish I knew that just because a product is expensive, makes bold claims, and is hyped up on social media does not mean it will work for my hair. Also, natural haircare does not have to be super expensive and exhausting. Some of the cheapest products and simplest routines work wonders for my hair.

Wish I knew that simple is best.
I had beautiful hair as a child, so my Mom had it about 85% right. Just had to find and correct the flaws in her system so that I could thrive again. Proper scalp care and hair detangling were the only parts that needed to be fixed.
THANKS MOM FOR THE EXCELLENT FOUNDATION ONCE AGAIN!

Girl everything you said is right on point!❤ I wish I knew to put my hair in mini twist and leave her alone. Less manipulation = length retention. It’s so many ways you can style your hair in mini twist, you can moisturize in mini twist. It was a game changer for me.

I’ve been natural since 2011. I wish I knew that washing my hair more often and focusing on my hair being moisturized was key! I was get really frustrated with my hair bc it would be dry and unmanageable. I never knew just putting water in it and making sure it didn’t dry out would make my life so much easier. I love my hair and how squishy and fluffy it feels when I moisturize it properly!!!

I wish I knew that I had low porosity hair and how often I needed to re-moisture in between wash days. Today my hair is super healthy after multiple setbacks along the way.

I wish I knew to stay with what works for my hair not try and follow someone else's routine. I would been farther than I am now in my length retention. Thank you for your videos, they help me to understand my hair!! ❤😊

Our hair is individualized according to our lineage & texture, so, tend to remember what my mom went through, I can't afford expensive haircare products, that's why I tune in to your channel, I come from a history of short hair females!

I really wish I knew about more about listening to my hair, moisturizing and understanding the need for moisture/protein balance before I’d become more intentional about my hair care. Listening to you and others along with experimenting with various products to find which ones works has changed my whole perspective. I had no idea how much I really didn’t know. So glad that’s changed.

The one thing I wish I knew when I started my natural hair journey was about your channel. In my few years of going natural it never really occurred to me to use You Tube as a tool for knowledge. I have learned so much since the summer. And now I’m still learning with your channel and a couple of others that I now watch religiously. I still have my struggles but I also have improvement. Thank You!

I wish I understood that care of my ends was just as important as moisturization.

I wish I knew that my hair needed moisture. My ends were always dry and I never thought about adding anything to them. Oh they suffered for my lack of knowledge. I bet I know better now.

I went back to natural hair in 2005 and yes, it's a journey. My hair has changed and I also had to learn what my hair liked and didn't like. Fir me less is more. (Shampoo, deep condition and leave-in)

Honestly I feel a way that the majority of stylists I go to actually do not like doing natural hair. I wanted and still want a stylist to help me but know it’s time for me to master my hair. From it’s natural state, protective styles and silk presses. It’s time. My hair definitely grows because I had locs and it grew like crazy.

Grease and water are cheap and effective for moisturizing. Our grandmothers knew what was up!

Getting my hair flat ironed and pressed every 2 weeks was too much

Learning to treat the scalp like a garden. A few years before coming in contact with curlychemistry, i was praying about my hair when Gid gave me understanding about gardening. Now, i switch out my products in September to a hydrating/moisturing combo. The PMP method helped me to better comprehend the LCO/LOC methods for the drier months of the year. Thank you curly chemistry for all you do. The oil rinse during the winter months has made a difference.

one thing i wish i'd known.. haha, i wish i'd known about this earlier, so i could get started sooner! 😅

i have caucasian hair, quite wavy/curly. almost 9 months ago i had my last chemo for breast cancer, so i'm growing my hair all from start. i began going in a bit more hardcore with natural hair care after about 3 months. i'm learning ALL the time - it's amazing. and my hair is growing, for which i am EVER so grateful.

i know my hair isn't black, but i still find your channel (and few others) very useful. thanks for putting in the time and energy to create content, so the rest of us can learn. 👏💯💖🙏

You are truly a gem. Thank you so so much for all of the information you share with us. Being a woman of color who grew up within an extended Caucasian family I was teased relentlessly about my hair, I grew up relaxing and straightening my hair trying to “fit in” but now I absolutely love my natural curly hair and would never ever go back to using relaxers again!!! Since I started listening to your advice concerning hair care my hair is healthy and thriving. It has grown like crazy and I just love it and your channel. Thank you! 🥰 ❤❤❤❤
