Van der sar is criminally underrated. Rolls Royce of a goalkeeper. Used to make everything look so easy and looked so calm in everything he did. How he isn't talked about up there with the very best in the premier league era idek

Van de Sar is criminally underrated. People don’t even mention his name when talking about the best keepers in the premier league era.

Edwin's greatest qualities were communication and organisation. He controlled that defense better than anyone could imagine. He was a top goalkeeper in every way, but he often didn't have to do much because of how organised everyone in front of him was

Ben Foster offers so much insight to the game it is fascinating to listen to him

VDS didn't need to be the best shot stopper (and he was a very good one) because his ability to organise and Marshall his defenders was top notch. IMHO it's what De Gea lacks the most.

Van De Sar was honestly so trustworthy in goal for us… whenever we played we could count on him.

Edwin had been playing at a very high level for many years. His experience especially in Juventus had definitely helped him a lot. Let's not forget he went to united at a rather advanced age of 34 which is old even for goalkeepers. And he still did a phenomenal job there. I swear he could've played till he is 50.

Ending the clip before they finished the list - great editing @Talksport!

Petr Cech stands out for me as a Chelsea fan I might be biased but he has to be in the top 5. Under appreciated if you look at stats etc. And he did it for such a long time at the top level even after his injury

Foster what a legend of a man. Always entertaining.

Schmeichel had that handball sort of movement to him, such a different type of style, one of the best ever

Honestly, I'm amazed that Van Der Sar was Fulham. That's not a diss against Fulham, it's just really weird that a Champions League great ended up there before going on to United.

Troy Deeney said the exact same thing about foster. Eats crap, trains thrice a week and is still quality come Saturdays hence why foster defended it at the end of the segment!

The 2000s had tier 1 keepers in the EPL. van der Saar, Cech, Lehmann, Reina, Howard...the list is endless.

As a goalkeeper I played for two teams when I was younger and older and both times I was a bench warmer and I wasn't happy. I wanted to be on the pitch playing. Van Der Sar was my hero.

I followed football as a kid but not very closely. But I remember being 7-8 years old watching EVDS highlights on YouTube. He absolutely amazed me seeing him fly all over the goal to make saves. Very underrated as a keeper and as I’ve gotten older I only appreciate him more as a keeper.

Doing a top 5 and you stop the video after the third one??? What?

We got Van der Sar very late but he's probably our best keeper. Good two feet and always felt comfortable when he was playing.

As a gk myself I totally agree with Ben.the mind is a tricky thing for a gk.its all mentality we do go in our own world sometimes during games.its about being able to switch it on when the ball comes close.we are definitely a bit nuts I loved diving at players feet jumping up knee out to protect yourself.
