Kids or a career - these days, mothers shouldn’t have to choose between the two. For women living in countries with access to education and training, combining both is a completely natural thing. But working mothers are still coming up against obstacles.

In this film, 10 women provide insights into their lives as company bosses - and mothers.
They’re CEOs, heads of department, founders - all in senior positions. Not that this makes it easy for them to take maternity leave or decide to have a child in a world still dominated by men. There’s always the risk that they will lose their position, and finding a temporary replacement isn’t always straightforward. But anyone who can take care of 150 employees and two to five children can surely rise to the challenge - right?

The documentary shows where the stumbling blocks lie to this day. But also, the opportunities to overcome them.

Being a mother is an unpaid job. When women work at home and work outside the home, they have a double working day. Women's double working hours are not recognized and are tiring. So you shouldn't romanticize being a mother and a boss at the same time. Just like children, they need time and dedication. If you don't dedicate time to a child for working, it's having a trophy child

This is a positive look at how women can be both mothers and career people. I would like to see what it's like for ordinary workers? Not top or middle management.

Someone will have to sacrifice the time to raise the children. That can be one of the partners, a grandparents, another family member, or a paid nanny.

I first raised my child and then I started my career. so I didn't miss her childhood. However, I believe that everyone should go on their own way.

I aupport the promotion of role models in modern families, but "I didn't take a single day of parental leave" people ain't it tbh. Doesn't matter if father or mother.

I have so much respect for these women. As for me, when I became a mom it was very difficult in the beginning to reconcile with the fact that I have to stay home (which I think I needed to). However, as of now I actually realize that I enjoy more being at home. Whenever my kids go to kindergarten, I have lots of time to do the things that I want. Like playing on the piano, reading books, baking, learning new recipe. I began to enjoy being at the moment, just looking at the trees and flowers, without having to rush. I also have a lot of energy for my kids whenever they come home from school.
I know that not all mothers have this luxury and I also understand that they have different preferences so let us respect each mother's choices too.

Remember women, you are nothing unless you work full time to make others rich and you let your children be raised by others

This can be a reality for so many women in the US if the givernment can pitch in with quality child care.

As i watched this documentary i clap for these women and others who are managing and balancing their careers and family responsibilities; and those who had left their job to be full time mothers. As this documentary have shown gender equity in the boardroom and workplace are a battlefield for many women.

The solution that I see in order to be a balanced mother and be satisfied with being a human, a professional and a mother is working only part- time and being self-employed. This documentary didn't mention anything about mental health which is the most important one in this equation. Having time for the kids and for your partner, for your job but also for yourself and your own needs.

Single people should be given as much time off as parents.

These days it is possible. They can work remotely, adjust to working on the business instead of in.. It doesn't have to be all or nothing..

Ridiculous obvious propaganda. Also being a woman doesn’t give you special powers. In fact, as a woman who worked before having children I found my female brethren bosses over compensating by acting overly obnoxious and harsh at times. Also they would see everything through “feminist glasses” which often distorted their view.

Cant believe (but am forced to do so) that these men saying these things and acting as such could be so incredibly short sighted. A company or agency serving society should be governed by such a representative workforce. How do you taylor your brand snd offerings to men only? Who has the greatest resource need? Mothers! Encourage more mothers in the board room. In the US, male parental leave is relegated to forward thinking tech companies and select few unions. Giving the same leave to both parents is a solution for families to make their own caretaking decisions.

I have tried to find these women on linkedin. One of them appears to take a career break for full-time parenting since July 2023

Parenthood or career: choose one. If you choose both, one will inevitably suffer.
