This is Noahs little brother Aiden. Hes 4 years old. Hes only had a few weeks of training and this was his 1st Judo competition. He fought 6 kids but only WON 1 match at the end of the video. He was the only 4 year old. The other kids are 5,6 and 7 years old.

This kid has a persistence that will take him places...Skill is one thing, but heart is better!

Tell your son to keep up the good work, he will be awesome in no time! :)

It looks like he gets better with every match he has. Super confident.

Brilliant! My 8 year old has just had his first ne-waza competition and won 6 out of 7 fights. It wouldn't have mattered if he'd lost. All that matters for kids is that they get experience in competitions. Well done to your boy for getting on the mat in the first place! It definitely shows the ignorance of some people regarding Martial Arts after reading some of these comments!

I was mad at first watching this video, thinking you were making fun of the little guy until I read the description and saw what the video is all about - You're the man Noah!! You're little brother, Aiden, is gonna be a beast when he gets older!!

Very cute clip :) I hope he'll continue with judo when he get's older! Being that young it is very easy to get discouraged to losing 5 in a row, but he showed heart and dedication and pulled through a win :) Admirable!

Third, at this age it shouldn't be about winning. Its about participating, having fun and getting exposed to the elements of a competition (different to dojo training). Well done to this 4 year old for having a go!

@jankusz100 He is not a blue belt. In Judo they use Blue and White for scoring purposes.

The one boy with the blue judo belt was thrown 5 times by his opponents at the beginning and does not defend himself. If I would be one of the boys in white belts (e.g. the taller guy at 1:13 and fight against the boy (Aiden), I would start the fight against him like this: Stop him by grapping him on this left arm Jacket and right Gi Jacket. Then try out some techniques for e.g. "Harai-Goshi", "Ippon-Seoi-Nage", "O-Goshi" etc. When these techniques not work, I could take him down to the matt into a 20 seconds oase-komi hold.

One think that makes me weird is, how could Aiden has after few weeks training and then probably in his 1st Judo competition the blue belt.
I did another sport called Karate. I did only for about 5 - 6 weeks which means 1 per week this sport, and had still the white belt.

In Conclusion:
1st Fight of Aiden: Loss by Ippon
2nd Fight of Aiden: Loss by Ippon
3rd Fight of Aiden: Loss by Ippon

My personal Opinion about the 3rd Fight of Aiden would be, if the fight could have been gone a bit longer e.g. more techniques or trying to get the taller boy into a oasekomi hold.
From the taller boy perspectiv he could possible take Aiden into a oasekomi hold (10 - 20 sec.) instead of an instant throw (Full Point = Ippon)

Im assuming u have never done Judo. If you have been in Martial Arts most of your life then you will know that the white and blue belts are used for scoring purposes.

Why has Aiden at 1:14 a bit taller Guy?

Ya both Aiden and his older brother do wrestling-judo-jiu jitsu and boxing.

Wow, lots of posts here from people who don't know what they're talking about. I've been involved in various martial arts since I was 6 (I'm now 35). Among them judo, jiu-jitsu and taekwondo. Here's my $0.02. First, it is common to wear a blue or red coloured belt at competitions. This is simply to help the judges keep the opponents apart. It has nothing to do with your skill level. Second, all these posters arguing which martial art is "better" have clearly missed the point of martial arts.
