The WINNERS of the #DubLitAward 2022 are Alice Zeniter for her title The Art of Losing, and Frank Wynne for his translation from the French.

The DUBLIN Literary Award is the world’s most valuable annual prize for a single work of fiction published in English, with the winner receiving €100,000. It is open to novels written in any language and by authors of any nationality, provided the book has been published in English or in an English translation.

For many, the unique draw of the award lies in the fact that the shortlisted books are nominated by libraries in major cities across the world, making it a reader’s accolade. It is sponsored solely by Dublin City Council, as is ILFDublin. The 2022 Award winner was chosen from a diverse and dynamic international shortlist which includes two novels in translation and a first-time novelist. Stories by French, Irish, Michi Saagiig Nishnaabeg (Alderville First Nation, Canadian), New Zealand, and Nigerian authors, read by discerning library patrons all over the world have made it to that shortlist.

The 27th winner of the Dublin Literary Award was announced by its Patron, Lord Mayor Alison Gilliland on Monday 23rd May.

The nominated novels for the Dublin Literary Award 2022 are available for readers to borrow from public libraries or on digital loan from BorrowBox:
Remote Sympathy by Catherine Chidgey
