Oil pressure switch replacement with basic hand tools. A simple DIY that you can perform at home. Every vehicle is different regarding the location. Some may be located on top of the motor. In this case, we had to jack up the vehicle to get clear access to the switch. This was performed on a 1997 Nissan Maxima. Please check with your vehicle's repair manual for testing parameters.

Watching this short video made replacing the oil pressure sensor in my V6 Holden (Chevy) Captiva an easy task. Using an oil pan for the mess and Teflon tape for the new sensor are great tips. Thank You!

Helpful!! It's in a similar low down spot on my Hyundai V6. I was concerned that ALL the oil would pour out when the old sensor is removed. I guess it's not all that much.

replaced my swith, but have the feeling may have crossed the thread as it wasn't a smooth screw in. So darned hard to get the thing lined up lying on your back with slippery hands. However wont know until I need to replace it one day, is it works fine and no leaks.

Do you have to drain the oil in the car first or is it fine to do it how it is?

Good job holding the camera and working a wrench at the same time I know that one first hand!! Does this part have to be oem or can it be from O Rellies or Advanced Auto Parts?
