Liverpool FC Season Review 1990/91

Goals and highlights from Liverpool's 1990/91 season, taken from the official season review video. The video only included Liverpool goals not goals against, so I have edited it to include all the goals.

The original video also included longer highlights of the games against Leeds United and Crystal Palace towards the end of the season. I have cut these down as they made it seem unbalanced. If you want to see more of these games please see:

Thanks to Lee Gittons and distantvoices for some of the extra footage here. I also used various goals from youtube so thanks to the following people/channels: Molly1260, stablestaple, Adrian Houghton, TJS Sports, FinestFootballTeam, covonthebox, SunderlandAFCTV, WESTEND126, Dave de Rave and AFCGuildford.

Felt sorry for Kenny when he left. could tell he never got over the trauma of Hillsborough and the aftermath of that disaster. Well done Liverpool on Championship number 19 when they do wrap it up think this current team could go on to achieve further success

1:54:25 "I'm quite sure that Liverpool have made a very good appointment in Graeme Souness. Anyone who thinks this is the beginning of the end for Liverpool should think again."

The commentator turned out wrong on both accounts.

Thanks for this. Xmas morning '91 close to ruined when I realised the oppositions goals weren't included. A bizarre decision rectified!

I was at the game at Derby where Liverpool won 7-1. Liverpool tore us to shreds.

The game at Elland Road summed up Liverpool that season.

Amazing how keepers never noticed 99% of Barnes' pens went to their right.
Great player, thick goalies.

The last season of that era of dominance for Liverpool. They probably would have won the league in 90/91 if it wasn’t for injuries. Defensive lapses didn’t help either. You could see how much they missed Hansen.

John Barnes was surly the greatest player in the world at that time along with Rudd Guillit both world class performers. Amen

It's amazing where you could start seeing the wheels start to fall off here. A 30 year drought until 2020w when they finally got over the hump.

Had this on VHS. Love the bed music - The Farm / Groovy Train. Still play it lots. Great tune. Instantly think of this season.

Souness was poison for Liverpool. Sold quality and replaced it with absolute shite. Thought he was a big deal because he dominated a two team league.

In all fairness…Hillsborough and the last minute title win by arsenal at anfield 19 months earlier had crippled the club…Liverpool by this time were a spent force…Daliglish could also see that….And those were some of the reasons is why he left
