Since its release in 2008, the MacBook Air has seen some incredible changes. It actually went from being one of Apple’s most expensive notebooks at $1,800 in 2008, to being the most affordable, at $1,000 today. But none of that happened without a little criticism and controversy along the way. So in this video, we’re going to take a look at the history of Apple’s most popular notebook: the MacBook Air.

“Products are more than just a box of specs”

Try telling that to every Android user. Good luck.

I still have 2009 Air in mint condition. I love the design. The Steve Jobs keynote is a classic.

This was a good trip down memory lane. I remember lusting after the Air when it first released. Knowing what I know now, I am glad I never got one.

Thank you Greg and let’s see what is next.

I had an 11" Air, and it was by far the best computer that I ever owned. I wish that Apple had continued to make them.

Upgraded my 2010 White MacBook Unibody to a 2019 Air in January. Paid a little extra for the 1.6GH quad-core i5 and am loving it! Can’t wait to see what they come up with in 10yrs 🥰

*unfortunately your recommendation at the end of upgrading the processor and getting student discount is not true. Student discount isn't possible with specified models. It has to be determined models.*

...and with the M1 it would be the best value product in macbook history!

For the longest time, Apple continued selling a super outdated MacBook Air with ancient hardware at full retail price.

Shame on them. I worked at Best Buy. Every time someone wanted to buy one, I straight up told them it was a terrible deal, get a MacBook Pro or Windows PC.

I still can't forget how impressive the Air's first commercial was

Correction at 2:50, remote disc also works on Windows PCs with wireless connectivity.
Edit 1: I expected you to address the rumors regarding an Apple silicon 12 inch MacBook which is said to be renamed as Air.
And you also didn't mention the short lived display output connector on the early 2008 models, the micro DVI, a MacBook Air exclusive interface, with the late 2008 models being replaced by Mini DisplayPort for support for the 24 inch LED Cinema Display by Apple.

I bought an Air in 2011 and my wife still uses it as her primary computer. Granted we aren’t using it for heavy processing but it’s perfect for our needs.

And with the MacBook Air M1 it is finally what I think Steve Jobs would have liked to presented in 2008...

I have a 13 inch Macbook Air and I really like it. My first thought from me and my family when I unboxed it was "how thin it is!" comparing it to another laptop's I had, this is really thin and lightweight.

I have this macbook for almost 2 years and it is a really good laptop, it's the middle 2015 version with 256 GB SSD and 8 GB RAM (before they renewed it) and it served well to me for my school homework and other stuff. The unique complain I have is the space, because it filled up fast. But the good news is you can upgrade the SSD or use a external hard drive and it's not a problem to me.

I have an iMac air about 2 years. I still love it. It is so easy to used. I inherited my mom’s iMac air but, the battery is so dead and one of the keys won’t work. It is swollen, too. So I bought a new one a couple years ago. It works great. I got 13 inch model. The other one is 11 inch model.
