Science Day at NIH 2019

Показать описание
Science Day at NIH is a partnership between NLM, the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities, the Association of American Medical Colleges, the Friends of the National Library of Medicine, and Mentoring in Medicine, a nonprofit organization that works to inspire disadvantaged and low-income students to become health care professionals.
On October 10, over 500 middle and high school students from Washington, D.C., area schools came to the campus of NIH in Bethesda, Maryland, to participate in this event.
In his welcoming remarks, NLM Deputy Director Jerry Sheehan encouraged the students to explore NLM’s resources as a way to help guide them on their journey.
Through speeches, panel discussion, demonstrations, hands-on activities, and “Lunch with a Scientist” sessions, students got to build on their knowledge by learning what it might be like to work in a lab, a medical office, and, of course, a medical library.
