Super Bowl Jeep Commercial Causes Controversy

Jeep's Super Bowl commercial – featuring a woman wearing a hijab – became one of the most talked-about ads on social media. The company, which is owned by Italian manufacturer Fiat, has yet to issue a statement. In case you missed it, have a watch.

So, a women with a black veil on is unnatural in an American video but an elephant roaming in the streets of Asia and showing panoramic shots of the Great Wall of China is not?

I had no problem with the woman in the hijab, because she very well could be american. I did however have a problem with the showing of landmarks from other countries to a song about the beauty of America.

It's funny how every is pointing the fingers at that Muslim girl saying "what the hell does she have to do with America ??" when the commercial also had footage of Brazil, hind (at least that what I think it was) and an elephant in the street and mabey it includes another non_amrican footage that we didn't see in those 7 seconds

This has nothing to do with the song or the meaning of the commercial, poeple just don't want to see any type of Muslim in Thier TV or Thier phones

This was a great commercial in every aspect. Only coward racists that are afraid of everyone and everything would be offended by this commercial.

It was a beautiful commercial premiered at a stupid time.  Coke made the same mistake last year.  Did Jeep learn NOTHING.  During the Superbowl feature a commercial showing the beauty of the USA and Jeep.  Then for something like the World Cup or the Olympics feature a world wide unity message.  It's simple.  Ultimately you want to sell jeeps.  this commercial has alienated and pissed off tens if not hundreds of thousands.  All publicity, in this case, is not good publicity.  People are talking about jeep....negatively.  If I were a stockholder I would insist the decision makers here be fired for airing this commercial at this time.

There is nothing wrong with the ad. As there is nothing wrong with a newspaper photo that shows a woman walking dressed with the hijab and to the rear another one in a poster, and all this speaking about corona. This all has a cumulative effect. After some months you will wondering how come you walked around without it. Ciao
