Tensions have heightened between two towns more than 11,000 miles apart all in a bid to become 'The world's steepest street'.

The title is currently held by the city of Dunedin, in New Zealand.

But, residents in a small town in Snowdonia believe they're home to a hill that could take the crown.

Sky's Tom Parmenter has been to find to out if they are right.

Dunedin's Baldwin street is definitely steeper, I've been to it myself and I bet that they don't roll candy down the street as a competition each year!!

Is it legal to bike it? There is a sign that prohibits cars from going up, but does that go for cyclists too?
