World's Heaviest Dinosaur Found - Sep 5, 2014
Показать описание
Palaeontologists in Argentina have uncovered what they believe is one of the largest and most complete dinosaurs ever found. Named Dreadnoughtus Schrani, after the massive battleship of the early 20th century, the sauropod measured 85 feet from head to tail and almost 60 tonnes, but remarkably, the animal was still growing when it died. Argentinosaurus is currently the biggest dinosaur ever discovered, but that title is based on just six back vertebrae, a few hip pieces and a shin bone. Dreadnoughtus on the other hand is 70% complete, giving scientists a chance to model blood flow, breathing and eating patterns.
