Mozilla Firefox 22 font size resolution problem

Upgrading to Firefox 22 can bring you resolution and font size problems. The browser changes your default font sizes to a bigger one. It does this to each of the website you visit. You cannot revert to the old sizes easily. I have not found a good fix for it except to revert to version 21 by doing a System Restore. The other alternative is to press control and roll the wheel mouse to adjust the font size and resolution. At least this way you don't have to go to "Tools" and dig deep into the menu to make the changes back to your default screen. If you want to make changes in the configuration, read the very good suggestion by Jamesedwardtheobold in comments section below.

Totally agree. This is messed up. I am thinking of avoiding FF or I will revert to FF 21 as well.
This is costing me a lot of time resetting these fonts every single time.

Try using "No Squint" add-in. It makes changing the fonts easier but it does not stay.

I want to share how my font problems were fixed in case anyone else was having my problems.

When Mozilla crashed on Monday, I was at a loss to restore everything. Unfortunately, I hit the default restore. That gave some horrible fonts, like reading a newspaper back in the dark ages. It was as if a demon chose some of those really bad unreadable HP fonts.

So I went into options like they told me to do and replaced with my favorite fonts. I just happened to like Arial. And I chose 18 point or larger. Wow, can read things really well. So the point SIZE is really the most important.

So then I went back and my messages were very tiny. I went back and after going back several times I found the "MINIMUM FONT SIZE" box. I went back and put in 18. That worked for me. So now I have Mozilla working for me better than I every did.

So folks, if you ever have a crash and this happens to you, remember to go into the MINIMUM FONT SIZE box and put in a high font point size.

Thank You!

Thanks for your insight. FF 21 seems to work ok for me so I'll try to hold on to that. I want my updates to be seamless and not be a constant pain. I will use the "about:config" solution if necessary.

Good to know. Thanks for the heads up.

They offered "No Squint" option as a fix so I'm surprised it does not stay. FF doesn't offer FF21 as a download now since they have FF 22. The only way you can go back is to do a "System Restore" to revert to FF21. I have reverted back and I hope I won't automatically upgraded again to FF 22.

Yes you can use ctrl+/-, it's the same thing. Much better than to go to "Tools" etc. to change the font sizes. It's one thing for a browser to change its own environment but this new version changes other parts of your desktop. Not good.

I really don't know what to do. My firefox text looks like it came straight from the 90's

Firefox just release version 23 which seemed to have resolve the issue.

I didn't know about ctrl wheel. I always use ctrl +/-. Both give me slightly different sizes.

Same here took the automatic update to 22 and what a carry-on double scripting, freezes, un-responcive scripts it's a bomb-shell blew in to million pieces. What a mess im on 22 now but downloading back to 20 or 21 as there more stable for windows - 7 pro, also IE-10 is supposed to conflict with 22 also so we are left with that much crap to clean -up for firefox it wont be long until i delete this sad browser as it was good for a few years but it's all gone Pete Tong !!!
