K&F's Pretty New Tripods

Have you been looking for a tripod to better match your fancy Sony Alpha mirrorless cameras? No? Well you should be ashamed of yourself. And I probably should be, too, but that's a matter for another day. K&F sent me their newest aluminum tripods to try out, and while they're not perfect, apparently they could be repurposed into a swing set. So there's that?

If you feel like picking one up:

I forgot to mention: these are Arca-Swiss tripod plates. Otherwise I probably wouldn't even give them the time of day 😂

I prefer snap locking legs because I can tell only by *looking* if a leg is not secured.
My first tripod had twist-lock and drove me so crazy that I sent it back.

The tripod I have was due for a replacement, and I ended up getting a K & F tripod because of your video. Thanks for the in depth reviews.

Interesting video. Although I am having a hard time absorbing your menthod of testing its stability by hanging off of it.

I was actually looking forward to seeing how stable it actually is while panning. Also, is it suitable for a long exposure photography?

Thanks!

Hey great video ! Do you know if both of these would hold a beastgrip pro cage with iPhone 14 pro max pretty easily ?

Thanks for the video, Wes and the weight testing XD Could you please let me know if the horizontal axis arm is the same length in the 67", 78", and 94" models? I basically shoot scaled car models on a desk. Looking forward to your thoughts.

Was considering the horizontal tripod for a Kodak Luma 350 projector, mostly in studio use?

I like the tripod except for one thing, the ball camera head. I find it moves ever so slightly when taking landscapes. I would prefer a much better head and I did purchase another head. I have been using a sigma 150-600 zoom and the head does not cope with heavy weights.

Anyone know a good phone holder for the boom tripod ?? I’ve tried 3 and none screw all the way on so it’s super loose

Can the center column under the horizontal rotating column be taken off so that the horizontal column can get down close to the ground without the long column under the tripod?

Nice review, Wes! That K&F tripod looks more cost effective than the Manfrotto tripod I recently got. Question on the larger K&F tripod plate: Is the the quick release plate flat at the bottom where it attaches to the tripod head? When I say flat, I mean not having a ridge on one side the way my Manfrotto plate has. The Manfrotto quick release plate can only be correctly inserted in one direction but not the other due to the un-even ridge design at the bottom. That actually drives me a bit nuts every time I have to re-insert the plate to the tripod head with camera attached, especially when trying to do so in the dark. I'm guessing you know what I mean by the bottom un-even ridge design of the quick release plate on a Manfrotto tripod.

I like that you have the quick release knob at the back of the camera so it's easy to use...too bad the front of the camera will block your spirit level mounted that way. Strange design, either you loose ease of use on the quick release knob, or you loose the level bubble.

Spent nearly $200 and waited over a month to receive an even high-end tripod. Low-quality aluminum, faulty design, the locking device can't tightly lock up, the pole can't hold the camera steadily, called and emailed, they posted me some irrelevant shiity parts, totally not worth the money, customer service was terrible.
