Like many things, software goes through a life cycle (as do software companies), from (1) innovative but limited and klunky to (2) improved and refined, to (3) effective and powerful, to (4) becoming bloated with new 'possibly somewhat useful' features, to (5) too complicated to use. This is wonderfully illustrated by Microsoft, and you can see it instantly if you try to get any help from their website.

Now with Edge, just signing in - a function that SHOULD be the most basic in any software containing a sign in - incredibly enough, is hard to figure out. I happened to be on a page in Edge that didn't have the 'sign-in' button in the upper right and my version of the Edge browser didn't have the profile icon either. So NOW what...?

Which brings up a related issue also practiced by Microsoft - too many versions (how many versions of Windows 10 exist???). That means that instead of a "simple" set of steps (that shouldn't be necessary in the first place) it takes a separate set of steps for each version.

So here I am, still searching Youtube just to figure out how to sign in to Edge... :)
