Slavens Racing Klim Nac Pak - Product Review

Hi guys, Jeff at Slavens Racing. This video is about the new Nac Pak from Klim. This is a new release, that they have made a lot of upgrades to. I’ve been using the previous version of this pack for many years. I use it on my dual sport bike as well as my dirt bike, I use it all the time. It’s got a ton of miles on it; the thing is holding up well. The zippers are in great shape, it’s not all tired looking.
It’s a very high-quality product, and it’s very functional. On this new one, they’ve added some new bells and whistles to it. Changed it around a bit. So Klim also caters to the snowmobile and snow bike market. A lot of their products are crossovers, they serve the dirt bike and motorcycle industry as well as the snow industry. On this product they’ve added a couple things to it, they’ve got this pouch here for a shovel handle and then right on over here for a probe pole that is for if your snow biking or snowmobiling, to dig out of an avalanche.
And they’ve got this reflective material on it now which allows people to see if you’re on pavement. And they’ve changed the pockets around some, I’ve only taken this one apart so I’m going to move on over to this one here for a second. So, there is this back pouch here, I’ll show you really quick. It’s a huge pouch that goes all the way down to here. It’s a big pouch, and on this side, it’s got a big pocket here and some smaller pockets here. It’s got a net pocket as well as a thing to hold your keys. Also another pocket inside of here.
It’s a very functional pocket, before there was three compartments. Before there was three compartments, there was the back, the outer one and then a middle one. The middle one has now been changed to a tool pouch. So you just unclip these things and the pouch slides out. And this is a tool pouch, so it’s got a compartment here, that you can put what you want in there. Slots here for wrenches, it’s just a nice pouch that you can pull out and put along side your bike if you have a trail side breakdown or a road side breakdown.
From there they’ve got this new, they’ve changed this compartment around as well. So this is a google compartment, this is a hard sided that is flexible, so you can put a spare set of goggles in here. I quiet often carry a spare set especially in running conditions. And then it’s got a google wipe here which is pretty slick in this little pouch up here. And then it’s got the pouch in the back, for putting in a bladder. In here you can put your three-liter bladder, that used to be included but since they’ve done all these upgrades, they’ve no longer included. We do have those as a separate item. You can use a Klim or another brand if you already have one, it can snap on right here to hold the bladder.
So a nice big pouch for that, a pretty cool looking carbon fiber looking handle here for carrying it around. And then these loops up here are part of holding the poles for the shovel if you’re carrying something like that.
On the other side, they’ve made quiet a few changes as well. It’s got a new buckling system, it used to just a have a slim strap down here. Just push this, this opens up and these are all padded. Show you over here, on this one they are green, this one they are grey, and this one they are orange. So it’s got these nice pads for the shoulders and then for up here on your chest. It’s also got these pockets here so they are kind of throwing a lot of bells and whistles here, there’s a little place here, as well as another pocket here. So you know, you can carry goodies with you. It’s adjustable, it’s easy to take on and off. They’ve also changed this, this has a nice something probably like d30 or something solid backing. It’s also got these slots in it to make it breathe, so you don’t feel like you’ve got a big slab on your back. So it’s a pretty slick unit, I’m sure there are some functions and features I’ve forgot, it’s got YKK heavy-duty zippers and it’s kind of a no-brainer.
It’s and excellent product with a reasonable price point, it’s ninety-nine dollars and it’s very functional and will last you a long time. Oops I forgot to tell you about the colors, in the past there was only grey and black, now there’s the green and black, the lime and black and they call this olive I believe, it’s kind of KTM Colors so it’s brownish color and the black and then the orange highlights.

Hi Jeff, since you don’t wear a chest protector do you wear a body armor shirt? If so which one? That would make a good video.

Can either of the front strap pockets hold a cell phone? for example a Galaxy s7

Can the hydration tube exit on the left shoulder or only on the right? I've seen pictures of it on the right but not the left

I’ve used the original Nac Pak for long time and love it. I really like the new front strap design and colors but not including the hydration bladder is a miss IMHO.
