Crete | Walking In Rethymno Old Town

Rethymno is a tightly-built, bustling commercial town on the north coast of Crete that can richly reward the casual stroller.
Casual -- that's the operative word in Crete.
You can, indeed are expected to, take your time about things. The Old Town of Rethymno is made for leisure. It starts just north of the main commercial high street and extends to the great Fortezza Castle on the seafront.
Within that square mile or so, you are taken straight back to the Venetian era.
