Marvel Rivals Is DESTROYING Overwatch 2...

Remember Overwatch? It's a rhetorical question, especially since most fervent fans couldn't stop talking about it after it launched in 2016. Several years and a "sequel" later, the hero shooter isn't exactly the most talked-about despite ruling the genre for so long. Instead, the attention is on NetEase's Marvel Rivals.

Dismissing any other pretender to the throne - Battleborn, LawBreakers, and even Concord - has been easy enough. However, Rivals has far surpassed them in player count, accumulating over 10 million in less than a week and 20 million in its first month. Whether it's the player counts or viewership, Overwatch 2 is seemingly left behind.

How did this happen? Much of it has to do with the kind of experience that Marvel Rivals has to offer, both on its own merits and in comparison, to Blizzard's efforts. With Season 1: Eternal Night Falls and the Fantastic Four around the corner, the former is only growing more popular.

Plus Marvel Rivals has the benefit of the back catalog of Marvel comics' 60+ year history and over 8, 000+ characters to choose from. As long as they continue to add more characters, maps, modes, skins and seasonal events, they're have a 10 year run.
