I've had mine for almost 18 yrs. Only ever needed routine maintenance and to change out old parts as needed. Great car!

Thanks for the video clip. Yes, it is a great vehicle and very versatile. I had 2003 EX model and it had nearly 290, 000 miles with regular maintenance and minimal repairs till another vehicle ran into it. After that I bought another Element, 2007 model and now, it has nearly 80, 000 miles

After my dad passed away (3 years ago this month) I inherited his 2004 Ellie. She still runs great! Saved my life few times. :)

I got one 2005 192k miles and it was totalled. A few thousand dollars later it runs, drives, and looks just like new. It's going to be my camping/offroading vehicle for this summer and I think it's great. It's also a great daily vehicle.

I have the a 2004 Element with 235, 000. I live in Columbus, WI and drive into Madison to work every day 60 mile round trip! Runs like a dream. Good hot heater and great air conditioner in summer months. The Honda 2.4 L engines are the best!

I'm not a fan of red, but I love that interior. Even the stick shift boot is amazing!

Bought a new Element in 2003....ran it for 11 years with no problems save the starter, which went in year eight, , , but was a relatively easy fix. ....these vehicles, if well maintained, are loved going around 4X4 trucks in the ditch in winter. In the end I sold it to my wish I still had vehicle I ever owned.

Mine sounds exactly the same on a below freezing cold start-up. A bit slow, but it always starts.

Rust is a common issue - if you're buying one, make sure the mechanic takes it up on the hoist and gets a good look at the rear trailing arms.

It comes down to two things: how the previous owner treated the car, and where the car lived. The Element is not a speedster and pushing it won't change that. Religiously changing oil shouldn't be an option. The 125K valve adjustment is another real thing that should be done. There are a lot of things to go into in maintenance but the car won't take care of itself, even if it's a Honda. The other thing is where it lives. Snow, rain, salted roads, gravel definitely reduce a car's lifespan. It may look good on the outside but if you don't find a mechanic who knows the car and gets under it on a lift, you're rolling expensive dice. A 100K car that's been abused won't outlast a 200K car that's been cared for.

I love my 2003 AWD.
Got it last year with 135k. I took the seats out and I use it for my work truck.
It's my mobile tool box!

Love what you have done with the seats and doors with that fabric textile. It really sets it apart.

Your Element is so cute, I love it. I want to purchase one so bad. Thanks for the review!

I bought a 2005 Element 6 months ago and love it! I had to replace the typical reported part problems - starter and vtec solenoid. I also put on some new tires, replaced the sway bar bushings ($5 part), put in some new headlamp bulbs and dash light bulbs. I do my own maintenance and it runs great! I recommend getting one if you're thinking about it.

Nice little video
started looking at these used, and the fact that it started right up in that cold is great

I've been searching for 3 years for a one owner Element and found one at a local Honda dealer who took it in on trade. It was a one owner 2018 Element SC with 119K miles. It now has 148K miles and just last week I had to replace the drivers window motor/regulator assy. at a total cost of $200. That has been the only issue in 2 years. Gets 24MPG on the highway and I love this vehicle. I got it to carry my two large dogs to the lake and vet, etc.. I am trying now to convert the back end to a camper and You Tube has many videos to check out.

Just bought an '07 SC with 93k miles on it. It was a salvage on Copart, but the work that was done was excellent. It needs new struts, but I plan to do those myself. Wanted one of these since they came out in '03. FINALLY! :)
